Classes, Brat Fry, and Birthday Celebration

Hello Everyone!

First off, I hope everyone had a great week. It was wonderful to see so many of you at practice onThursday! We have a few announcements to make for the coming weeks so get your calendars ready, or just make sure to head over to risingphoenixtkd.com and take a look at the Herald and under "Schedule".

Regarding upcoming practice days we are happy to have a full week ahead of us. Tuesday and Thursdaywill still be in the padded room 110 of the Klotche Center at 8:40pm until 10:00pm. Monday and Wednesdaypractices this week will be held in room 280 in the Union from 7:00pm until 8:00pm.

In two weeks, on Monday the 18th, the club will be hosting a fund raising brat fry in Spaights Plaza from 10:00am to approximately 3:00pm or until we've sold all our brats =D. The proceeds of this brat fry and other fund raising go towards paying for practice spaces, new equipment, and lowering costs to members. Fund raisers like these help out the Fellowship immensely so if you have some free time in between classes on that day please come help sell, cook and yell about our brats, even if its only for a half hour or so. Besides, who doesn't love a good ol' fashioned cook out? If you really are pressed for time on Monday, don't sweat it. There are plenty of other things you can do to help just during your 5 minutes between classes. Stop over during the day for lunch and pick up a brat! Gallivant it around campus on your way to class, proudly dawning your Rising Phoenix apparel! Make mouth watering faces at your brat as you pass by other students. Make everyone else extremely hungry when they see you, and when they ask you where you acquired such a delicious specimen of bratwurst you tell them, "Spaights Plaza! Rising Phoenix Tae Kwon Do Fellowship makes the best brats this side of the equator!" =D

Finally, this Saturday, the 9th of October we will be holding a social gathering celebrating some of the recent birthdays in the Fellowship! Everyone is invited to this event which will be held at mine and Mr. Olsen's house, 2424 N. Frederick Avenue starting around 8:30pm. Our very own Julie Steinbach has offered to make a cake for this occasion! But that shouldn't stop you from bringing other delicious food or beverage along with your smiling faces. The more the merrier! (That applies for food too, right?) And of course, these events are always wonderful opportunities to reunite with fellow members. If you haven't been able to make classes in a while or feel a bit distant from the club we would LOVE to see you this night. Family's are related by blood and spirit. This is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with your Tae Kwon Do brothers and sisters. We hope to see you very soon!

All the best,

Nate Winter
